Australia and France were the top five countries! Dank schön, Merci beaucoup,

3:33 pm 3/6/07 - Another good question - How did you switch
runners on one treadmill?
Very carefully! We took the speed down to
10mph and one guy jumped on the left side, while another went on from the right
side. The entire switch took an average of 4 seconds. If you scroll to
the very bottom of this page we have a short video showing a typical transition.

2:56 PM 3/6/07 - We had a few questions about the unique looking treadmill we used for
for the event. They are made by Woodway USA, who supplied us with two units. One
to use for the event and another for warming up.Click Here for pictures of the
actual units we used. Yes, we only used 1 treadmill for the entire 24 hours!

4:00PM - Jason Ream, 24, from Middleburg Hts, OH was the lucky runner to be on the
treadmill when the World Record was Broken. For his effort, Jason received the Anna Nicole
Booblehead that was with us throughout the event. Thanks to Bosley Bobbers
for providing
Great Lakes HSA for a case of Bobble Heads

1:04PM -
This will probably be the last update on the internet as I have to run from 2-3 PM,
After the 20th hour, we have run a total of 217.16 miles, we are over 10 miles ahead
of WR pace. The19th hour was run at 11.46 miles (incredible).Right now, I am too tired to
update all the stats but go to the Home page for the complete hour by hour details.
Thanks for everyone who checked in throughout the day and wrote in with questions. It
has been a long day for all involved.

11:35 - Glenys from Newport Beach, CA writes " What does HSA stand for?
Best question yet! HSA stands for Health Savings Account. It is a type of health
insurance that allows you to pay for medical expenses with Pre-tax dollars and
not surprisingly, the primary product that Great Lakes HSA sells!!! - I think Glenys
will recieve a t-shirt for such an excellent question. Also, please email us your guess of
our total running miles for the last two hour hammer session. The person closest will
get a super limited addition 24 hour t-shirt! (email must be received by 3 PM today!

11:32AM - Isa from NYC writes "Why don't you guys see how you feel at 5PM,
before deciding to do the 48 hour record? Good question Isa and I agree! I don't think
we will run past 5PM on Sat, but Sunday AM, we are planning on finishing off
the 48 hour record before Noon. What is another 56 miles when you already
ran 260+..UPDATE - we never ran again on Sunday. Maybe next year for the 48 hour.

11:17AM -
I hope everyone watching at home comes down before 3:00PM because it looks
like the World Record will fall by then! Question from Neil in Memphis - " Is that an Anna
Nicole Bobblehead I see in the photos and where can I get one? Why yes Neil, it is an
Anna Nicole Bobble head! You can buy one through this event for the low price of
$10!. All profits will be used for shoes at Second Sole.

11:07AM - Quick update, 18th hour was just complete and
we have a total of 195.07 miles! We are almost one hour ahead
of World Record Pace!!!

11:07AM - I am back from the front lines - full update in 10 minutes

7:27 AM - Next update will be around 9:00AM as I am going back
to the store for more video/ photos and interviews.

7:08AM -
14 hours and we have a total of 151.93 miles or 7.62 over WR pace Bement
and Juergens just averaged 5:35 minutes per mile.
We just got a question from Dave - "What is the hardest part of this type of event?"
Dave, I know everyone is having a hard time staying loose in between runs.
The current team is running 10 minutes with 10 min rest during the
10 minute rest, most are continuing to run on the other treadmill or
stretching in the back. Scroll below to get the Hour by Hour Splits

6:50AM - GO to the Video tab to see Mr. Brenden Moody
crusing along at 12.4MPH
. Note this is at 2:30AM!

6:00AM Update - My trusty Timex from 3:10AM and Ryan hammering away at night

Running at 3:30AM was what I thought it was going to be - boring and painful!
But seeing guys like Brendon Moody, cranking up the treadmill to 12+mph with a sweet
Techno mix blasting away is motivating enough to forget the pain or the time!

Brendon, Ryan Hochstetler and Chip Wilson put in some incredible numbers
from 1-3:30AM. During the 10th hour, they averaged 5:17 minutes per mile.

Thanksagain to Red Bull for stopping by on Friday night. Red Bull / Techno and sub
5 min miles. Take out the sub 5 min miles and I am back in NYC staying out until
the sun comes up!

2:15 AM

Who can sleep when guys like Tim and Fred are averaging 5:20's at
1:00AM! Great work guys! The 2nd shift starts at 3:30AM. Lets see
what the boys have left after running just 9 short hours ago! More updates
after 4:30AM!

11:00PM -
Mike Seymour just ran 1 hour straight at 5:28 pace. Are you kidding
me? We are now 2.09 miles ahead of World Record Pace and we are
only 6 hoursinto the run. Only 18 more hours to go! Fred Kieser and
Tim Budic just got on the treadmill. I hope the Woodway Treadmill can
keep up!

10:55 PM - This could be the last update as I am trying to get some sleep
(But the phone keeps ringing!) we hit the 100K mark in 5 hours, 49 minutes and
38 sec. 5:49:38 This translates into 5:35 minutes per mile or 3:29 kilometers,
Special thank you to Carla Hani, from the Great Lakes HSA Geneva office for
translating our website into French! Our current webstats show over
10 countries tuning into our coverage!

10:18PM - 5 hours into the run and we are already 1.5 miles ahead
of World Record Pace! Wow - We won't have any pictures until 4:30AM because
the photographer is going to bed as I have to run again at 3:30AM! Ugh -
Updates will be much better after 4:30AM and throughout Sat morning
and afternoon.

8:47PM - The 2nd and 3rd hour was run by the team of Rick Bement and Rob Juergens.
Both runners really kicked it up for their 2nd mile posting 11 miles for the hour!

1:48 into the Run - The Team River Boys are looking good!
(note - only 22 hours to go!)

Update 8:14PM EST

We are sorry for the almost live coverage - we had a few technical problems that
will be sorted out tonight. At 5:00PM EST.we started the Woodway Treadmill with
John Paull taking the first 12 minutes slightly under 6:00 pace. John is running
with Jim Snyder throughout the 24 hours. They averaged 5:55, which was their
goal for the first hour. Pace wise, everyone is taking is easy for the first running
session. We are working in two man teams with most of the teams running two hours.
The girls from Red Bull stopped by just in time to wake everyone upand provide
our runners with some ice cold Red Bull. I will be looking forward to some
around 3:00AM before I run again!
